United Progressive Party (UPP) Political Leader Harold Lovell received the second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Saturday.
Currently, a system of providing second doses to all who received their first dose will be added to those who are seeking to have their first dose administered.
Meanwhile, members of the Antigua and Barbuda Cabinet took their second jab of the AstraZeneca vaccine on Thursday.
One response to “Harold Lovell receives second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine”
We are politicizing the vaccines issue when we should not. Once Mr. Lovel, or any other person, took the first dose, they have a duty to themselves to complete the process by taking the second dose.
Vaccines save lives, but vaccines, by their side effects, also take, or cut short lives. In the case of Mr. Lovel, let’s watch him and see if he remains healthy and vibrant, as we have known him, or if he suddenly falls ill and maybe we don’t know what will even happen. May God take care of him.
Mr. Lovel probably took his first dose out of ignorance about the possible side effects; and, no doubt, would have done it early for a political reason. At this stage, he can’t change his mind, because he already had his first dose: so, it’s incumbent upon him to complete his vaccination.
I don’t think we actually have anti-vacksas in Antigua and Barbuda. We all are accustomed to taking vaccines. I must give our people much credit for their skepticism about taking the Astrazeneca vaccine. Their behavior proves to me that our country is endowed with a perceptive and intelligent population.
