The family of a Colombian woman who was badly injured in a car accident in Antigua is trying to get her back home.
Leidy Paola who was born in Bogotá, Colombia was admitted to the local hospital on Sunday, May 3 after the car in which she was a passenger crashed.
According to her family members, who organized a GoFundMe for Paola, she received seven fractures in her left leg and arm.
Her family wants her to return to Colombia to undergo surgery, because they say there are no resources in Antigua and Barbuda for the highly complex surgery that she needs.
One response to “Colombian woman badly injured in accident in Antigua needs help to get home”
The Columbian Government or the Antigua and Barbuda Government, or both should urgently collaborate to get the woman home as soon as possible (ASAP).
When foreigners visit Antigua and Barbuda they deserve our government’s assistance in times of health emergency, simply because life is precious, and we have a duty to take care of our visitors. At least, we should initiate contact with the Columbian government, and keep them updated with information on the woman’s condition.
Please don’t allow this woman to die here.
