The influencers delved into the reasons behind their decision not to revisit Antigua, shedding light on the economic challenges they encountered during their stay.

They mentioned the high prices for basic foods, which they found to be extravagantly high, making it difficult for them to afford an extended stay. The couple also expressed regret at not being able to make it to Barbuda to witness the frigate bird colony, an experience they had hoped for.

In their response, Berni and Alex shared positive aspects of their time in Antigua, highlighting the incredible hospitality and friendships they formed during their hitchhiking adventures across the entire island.

They clarified that their main concern was the expense of everything in Antigua, expressing a genuine struggle to understand how locals in low-income classes manage to make a living.

The duo concluded their response with a message of understanding and goodwill, stating, “Hope you understand our point, bless all of you.”

The influencers, known for their adventurous spirit and unfiltered travel stories, shed light on why this Caribbean paradise didn’t make the cut for a second visit.

Antigua, often celebrated for its pristine beaches and warm hospitality, didn’t quite capture the hearts of these intrepid travelers.

While acknowledging the friendliness of the locals and the island’s undeniable charm, the hitchhiking enthusiasts firmly stated that Antigua lacks the allure to warrant a return trip.

The influencers emphasized in their blog post, “There’s nothing wrong with this island, and the people were super friendly. However, in our opinion, the island has not much to offer in comparison to others – it rather feels like a hub for rich yacht owners.”

The decision not to revisit Antigua is a notable one, considering the island’s popularity among travelers worldwide.

The influencers, however, stand firm in their commitment to sharing authentic travel experiences, even if it means breaking away from the conventional favorites.

“It’s not a criticism of Antigua as a destination; it just didn’t leave a lasting impression on us. Once you’ve seen the place, you’ve seen it,” they explained in their blog post.

The “hitchhikingdiary” influencers continue to inspire their followers with their unique perspective, encouraging a diverse exploration of the world.

They also listed Saint Lucia and the USVI in the Caribbean as places they would not revisit.

Parts of Mexico and Parts of Colombia were also on their list. Honduras and Guatemala City were the other countries listed.

One response to “Travel Influencers put Antigua on their DO NOT return list”

  1. Antigua is still a nice place to visit, however I share the same sentiments. Simple things on our island is profusely expensive. My dear friends I don’t know myself how others with low income manage. And still cant have running water in our homes in this 21st century🙄.
It’s nothing to be annoyed or go over the moon about; thats their opinion. We’re entitled to that. It doesn’t make them right or wrong.
