Kelsick, who has been operating his business at the same location since 1984, is speaking out against what he perceives as unjust treatment by both the hotel developers and government authorities.
“I have been representing Antigua since 1983, before the Olympics, and my presence here has been unbroken since then,” Kelsick stated, emphasizing his deep connection to the area.
“This business is my only source of income; it feeds me, pays my bills, and supports my family,” he added, highlighting the economic impact of his establishment.
Kelsick also addressed the issue of complaints, stating, “Not that I can recall any complaints; in fact, I’ve had many compliments from tourists for the vibrant atmosphere we provide.”
The justification given for his relocation was that his business obstructed views from the hotel rooms.
However, Kelsick refuted this claim, saying, “The initial word to me was that we were blocking views from the hotel rooms, but there’s no blocking, and the structure is not high.”
Regarding compensation for relocation, Kelsick mentioned, “There was mention of compensation initially, but it has not materialized. It’s a take-it-or-leave-it offer with no negotiation.”
“It’s like something out of a mafia case, where they tell you to take their offer or face forced removal with no compensation,” Kelsick expressed, highlighting the unfairness of the situation.

One response to “Peter Kelsick being forced to move his business to make way for Royalton Chic”
Why not include your business as part of the Royalton? Include your services. Your wealth of your experiences would be an asset to the visitors. Representation for your country counts for nothing. Athletes take note. When you get qualified look to another country to represent who will treasure you.
