On November 4, 2023, at the Legacy Ball of the Antigua & Barbuda Global Music and Media Award (ABGMA), the nation of Antigua & Barbuda witnessed a remarkable moment as Peetron Thomas, a multi-talented individual renowned for his accomplishments as a singer, preacher, and humanitarian, received the highly esteemed National Humanitarian Award. The event was graced by esteemed guests, well-wishers, and ardent supporters who gathered to honor Thomas and other philanthropists, impactors, and media professionals for their outstanding contributions to society.

In a heartwarming acceptance speech, Thomas began by expressing his deepest gratitude to God, his family, friends, and members of his humanitarian establishment. He made special mention of his Mother Brenda Thomas, also known as Kharol, his Administrative Secretary Tina Lewis, and affectionate Mother Junalla Allen. He couldn’t help but acknowledge the absence of his grandparents, especially his beloved grandmother the late V. Noreen Mingo, whom he wished could have been present to witness this pivotal moment in his life. However, a large framed image of his grandmother’s portrait was seated right next to him.

The Humanitarian Award, presented to Peetron, signifies a profound recognition of his unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the world. His life’s purpose revolves around connecting with people through the extraordinary talents and skills that he firmly believes were bestowed upon him by the Almighty.

Throughout his life journey, Thomas encountered various challenges and, at times, disagreements within certain congregations and their leadership. However, he emphasized that his determination to reach and uplift individuals has never wavered. His unwavering motto, “I will rise above the norm, overcoming darkness with light,” has been his guiding principle.

In his heartfelt acceptance speech, Thomas extended his gratitude to the ABGMA visionary, Apostle Stanshaw Cornelius, and the academy responsible for selecting him for this prestigious humanitarian honor. He spoke with humorous and unwavering conviction about his belief that he is genuinely fulfilling his calling and passion.

Reflecting on his early aspirations, Thomas shared that he had three profound ambitions: to be a singer, a preacher, and a superhero. Today, he proudly declared that he has not only achieved these ambitions but has done so through sheer hard work and unwavering determination. Thomas has not only become a proficient singer but has also ascended to the highest spiritual leadership position as a pastor. As he continues his journey in the realm of humanitarian work, he wholeheartedly embraces the role of a true hero.

Thomas addressed the common misconception that receiving this award signifies the culmination of his humanitarian journey or that his reduced involvement in the church implies a loss of purpose. He clarified that his ultimate goal is to impact the world and reach every soul through his unique “superpowers” – his talents and skills.

He also took the opportunity to announce his upcoming projects, including the “Work Fu Um – Empowerment Initiative” and an upcoming book. Through these endeavors, he aims to make a difference in youth empowerment, educational/vocational enhancement, and cultural development, not only in Antigua & Barbuda but also beyond its borders. Thomas made it clear that this award marks the beginning of a new chapter in his life, and he eagerly anticipates sharing it with his supporters and well-wishers.

In conclusion, Thomas expressed his gratitude to all who have been part of his journey and reaffirmed his dedication to making a lasting impact on the world.

The Humanitarian Award ceremony provided a glimpse into the remarkable journey of Peetron Thomas, whose unwavering commitment to humanitarian work and profound achievements as a singer and former pastor continue to inspire and uplift those around him.
