Antigua’s Philanthropic Musical Sensation, Peetron Thomas, Set to Receive Humanitarian Award at ABGMA 2023*

In the heart of the Caribbean, a star was born on June 15, 1995, in the enchanting island of Antigua. This star is none other than the multitalented Peetron Thomas, a name that resonates with both soul-stirring music and unwavering humanitarian service. And now, the world is set to honor his remarkable dedication with the prestigious Humanitarian Award at the 9th Annual Antigua Barbuda Global Music and Media Awards (ABGMA) on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at the John E St. Luce Building in a glamorous black-tie event.

Peetron’s journey began with his innate gift for music. His melodious cries were deemed as songs and sermons, even during his baby stage. From this tender beginning, his love for gospel music blossomed, becoming a beacon of inspiration for many. He quickly captured hearts with his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics, leading to performances in churches, community events, and international stages.

But Peetron believed in more than just music; he believed in creating a lasting impact. Growing up within the SDA Pathfinder club, Advent Youth Ministry, Inter School Christian Fellowship, and Apostolic Outreach Ministries, he felt a deep calling to address social and humanitarian issues. At the age of 15, he initiated the “Peetron and Friends” outreach mission club, which eventually evolved into the renowned Peetron Movement International (PMI).

PMI has been at the forefront of numerous projects, from music workshops to benefit concerts, fundraisers, and awareness campaigns for causes like hurricane recovery, providing education for underprivileged children, and supporting those in need with essentials like food and toiletries. Over a decade, Peetron and his team have established spiritual, cultural, and performing arts development youth camps, mental health programs, and youth empowerment projects, leaving an indelible mark on communities locally and across the Caribbean.

Peetron’s music journey has been no less spectacular. Winning the Emerge Gospel Challenge in 2015 marked the beginning of his musical flight. He has since released four major gospel singles, earning him four ABGMA Music Awards. However, he’s not confined to gospel alone; he’s a versatile, multi-genre vocalist, performing R&B, inspirational songs, and even pop music.
