Following in her teammates’ footsteps of the 100 metre freestyle, Arianna John marked a fantastic drop of 1.01.97, from her entry time of 1:03.27 at the beginning of the Games (Girls 15-17).

Stubbs-Green and Shaw’s performances, at the helm of an overwhelming National Team showing, provide a severe rebuttal to those who claim swimming is not a premier sport in Antigua and Barbuda, and surely must justify an increase in support for our young athletes whose dedication and personal application have proven their weight on the podium.

The ABSF offers heartfelt congratulations to Ethan, Ellie, and all of the finalists of last night. President Derek Marshall, smiling broadly, could not contain himself. “We are very proud of Team Antigua on the whole and the continued personal achievements and stellar performances.

Our National Team is continuing to represent in an exemplary manner. We at the ABSF are overwhelmed with their hard work and personal success! Today was a great day for our Team and our Nation, as they continue to push themselves in the pool and to the openwater events.”

The ABSF would like to thank CIBC First Caribbean International Bank and the National Olympic Committee (NOC) for their generous contributions to making Antigua and Barbuda’s representation at this meet possible.
