Subject: Transparency in Cabinet Reports
Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my concerns regarding the lack of transparency in the weekly reports released by the Cabinet of Antigua.
While these reports highlight what is often referred to as “low-hanging fruit” and publicize major decisions, there is a glaring omission when it comes to certain crucial details.
Specifically, I am referring to the recent decision regarding duty-free concessions for the crematorium.
It is puzzling why such information was not included in the public report, especially considering that the need for a crematorium was discussed in previous Cabinet meetings.
This omission raises questions about what else might be hidden from public view.
I understand the need for confidentiality in some matters, but transparency is essential for maintaining trust and accountability.
It is disheartening to see the same repetitive reports week after week, leading to a lack of interest in reading the Cabinet releases altogether.
This begs the question: Is the release of these reports serving as a distraction from more significant issues within the Cabinet?
I commend the patriotic Antiguan who leaked part of the Cabinet decision regarding duty-free concessions.
This act of transparency is commendable and highlights the importance of ensuring that the public is informed about key decisions that impact our nation.
I urge the Cabinet to prioritize transparency and accountability in their reports.
It is only through open communication and disclosure of important decisions that we can build a stronger and more trusting relationship between the government and the people.
Sincerely, OPM Employee

Many times I heard the saying that Antigua is not a reading public, and if q country is not a reading public, then there will always be concerned, because of Lock of knowledge…
You’re damned if you do, and damned if you don’t. Every decision made is not for public consumption.
If is baffling that this administration strident in giving weekly updates on its cabinet meetings.
Never in the history of out nation have we ever had this much transparency. Yet still, people will find fault. It’s usually from the people who don’t mean the administration well.
Let the donkey keep in braying, as the wagon moves on.
God bless Antigua and Barbuda
