The United Taxi Company (UTC) faced internal discord as members gathered at the airport parking lot near the old terminal. Trust in the executive dwindled, leading to a dispute over the presidency between Henley Daniel and Ian Joseph.

A new executive, comprising both seasoned and new members, was elected with 49 out of 91 members present. Last year, over half of the members signed a petition to remove the previous executive, citing division and a hostile atmosphere.
Daniel, former president, contested the recent election results, admitting the need for more transparency but claiming no hidden agendas.
However, concerns persisted as nearly half of the members opposed his leadership without clear reasons.
In January, Joseph and supporters threatened to oust the executive but instead demanded a meeting, eventually leading to postponed elections.
During discussions, Daniel and others emphasized treating disagreements like family matters, stressing the organization’s corporate structure over an association.
The rift’s root cause, whether related to the company’s rebranding from an association or board structure, remains unclear despite efforts to clarify.
