The DPP’s office is asking the court of appeal to overturn High Court Judge, Justice Colin Williams’ ruling.
The four defendants, Police Constable Jason Modeste, Lance Corporal Shakiel Thomas and Privates Armal Warner and Aliyah Martin, were jointly accused of murdering Bruce Greenaway, whose body was found in shallow waters at Indian Creek in April 2020.
The judge upheld no-case submissions put forward by defence attorneys Wendel Robinson, Andrew O’Kola, Sherfield Bowen and Lawrence Daniels, who each represents one of the defendants.
Less than 24 hours after the judgment, Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, Shannon Jones Gittens filed a notice of appeal, requesting that the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal quash and set aside the judge’s ruling.
