(REAL News) — Two men were wounded in separate incidents, one of which allegedly started out as a robbery.
According to reports, a doctor at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre notified the Police that a St. Johnstons Village man had arrived at the Emergency Room (ER) with what appeared to be a fracture to his head.
The victim claimed it had been inflicted by an unknown assailant.
As a result of the report, officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) went on duty at the hospital to investigate the allegation of grievous bodily harm.
The victim told them that, while he was walking from west to east in the vicinity of Antigua Plumbing and Hardware, he got into an argument with an unknown man.
He alleges that, during the altercation, the man beat him with a stick and he later began to feel dizzy.
He was subsequently transported to the hospital, where doctors ordered a CT scan on his head.
They then observed that the St. Johnstons Village man had sustained a fracture to his frontal lobe.
This offence reportedly occurred in Ottos at about 4:30 p.m. on October 10.
Reportedly, officers conducted a search for the alleged offender, but without success.
Meanwhile, the other wounding incident, which involves a 65-year-old Perry Bay man, is being investigated by the Police.
Reports say the victim complained to officers at the Grays Farm Police Station that he had been attacked by two masked men who demanded money.
During the incident, one of the perpetrators reportedly chopped him on the left hand with a cutlass.
This offence reportedly occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on October 11, on the Perry Bay Road leading into Grays Farm.
