The Police have increased their patrols around the beaches in Antigua and Barbuda in order to ensure strict compliance from beachgoers.
Anyone who wishes to go to the beach for the purpose of bathing or exercising must do so between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Weekends or holidays are not allowed.
No more than two persons from the same household will be allowed to be on any beach during the allotted time.
Likewise, no food, music or any form of gathering or picnicking will be allowed to take place.
Boat owners, who wish to utilize their boats, may only do so for the purpose of fishing, and not leisure. Any form of loitering, liming or sightseeing is strictly prohibited.
The public is further reminded that only two persons from the same household should be seen travelling in the said vehicle at any given time. The social distancing guidelines must always be followed, and the mandatory wearing of masks in public is expected to be adhered to.
The Police Administration wishes everyone an enjoyable and incident-free Labour Day weekend, and trust all efforts will be made to stay safe and be protected from the Coronavirus.
