St. Peter Member of Parliament Asot Michael on Tuesday appealed to his “one-time Dear Illustrious Brother,” Prime Minister Gaston Browne, to change his approach and be more of a statesman.
Speaking in Parliament, Michael said the response to the government’s mandatory vaccination policy would have been different, had the Prime Minister taken a more loving and gentle approach.
“I am appealing to the honourable member for St. John’s City West, the honourable Prime Minister, my one-time Dear Illustrious Brother. He’s the Prime Minister of all, Mr. Speaker. Of all — of UPP , of ALP, red, blue white, Black, Chinese, Arabs, everybody. Go Green and all,” Micahel said.
“The Prime Minister is very passionate in his belief, and rightfully so, that he wants to achieve herd immunity in his country. He’s also the sitting Chairman of CARICOM and he wants to see better — not just for Antigua and Barbuda but for the entire Caribbean region.”
In his plea to the Prime Minister, Micahel said: “It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it.”
The St. Peter MP recalled that the late Sir Lester Bird always said to his Cabinet , “‘You can never divorce your personal self from your ministerial functions or your Prime Ministerial functions.’”
‘Don’t level down Mr. Prime Minister’
Michael reminded the Prime Minister, “Once you’re serving in public office, especially at the highest level as Prime Minister of this country, you have no personal opinion. When you speak, you are speaking as the Prime Minister, representing the entire country.
“Don’t level down, Mr. Prime Minister, to persons on social media and on Facebook and on Pointe FM and answer all and sundry who may criticize you. Do not threaten them. Speak gently to them. Use your charisma, your intellect that God gave you. You’re an astute politician, an intellectual politician.
“Sir, although your policy or policies may have been unpopular and may not have sit well with all … you could have had it sit more gentle, had you been more calm, more appealing [or] nicer. Give love and you will get back love and the people of the country will not be so upset. They will not be cursing you so much Mr. PM,” Michael added.

Yes asot you hi a homerun on this topic .. Maya Angelou Wrote and Said “Hate, it has caused a lot of problems in this world, but it has not solved one yet.”Never make someone a priority when all you are to them is an option.”
“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it. the desire to reach for the stars is ambitious. The desire to reach hearts is wise.
To those who have given up on love, I say, Trust life a little bit. “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better. The question is not how to survive, but how to thrive with passion, compassion, humor and style.”
“When people show you who they are, believe them. Just like moons and like suns, with the certainty of tides, just like hopes springing high, still I’ll rise.”
“My wish for you is that you continue. Continue to be who and how you are, to astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness. This is a wonderful day. I have never seen this one ever before😊..
Gaston Browne must now stop criticising and belittling his fellow countrymen (and women) when he has the same said faults – remember, an alligator shouldn’t call hog long mout …
The PM needs to bow out or step down.
This is where we must recognize whom is in operation. That is the Most High Yahweh (whom the world call God). Him I declare to you Mr. Prime Minister (Acts 17:22-24, 30) He, Yahweh finds it necessary to call the wrong out and to warn, make it right! (PSALM 1O:15). I call out in the name of Yahweh Elohim Yahshua the Mashiach to disclose to the Prime Minister of Antigua Barbuda you are like a blade of grass (1 Peter 1:24, Psalm 103:15-16, Isaiah 37:27, Isaiah 40:6-7, most importantly James 1:10), so enjoy the rays of the sun for “you too” must answer for your actions one day.
The end result will be, will you be remembered as a wilted blade of grass that lost all its “gleam,” or that blade of grass that yield forth that “glory” from the sun? Will you (like that blade of grass) be remembered for its intelligence, wisdom, knowledge, “beauty,” justice, love, foundation, power and strenghth? These being the attributes of a godly man whom stands on principles and righteous beliefs, a guardian over the people, exercising fair and just rulership. Take heed!
