Berthold Kobina Ackon, a popular African vlogger, has been denied an entry visa to Antigua & Barbuda.

This decision comes despite Ackon being welcomed with open arms in several other Caribbean countries, including Barbados, Guyana, Suriname, and even Jamaica where he was initially denied.

Ackon, known for his engaging travel vlogs and cultural insights, had applied for a visa to Antigua & Barbuda, hoping to explore and showcase the beauty of the twin-island nation to his followers.

However, his visa application was swiftly rejected, as confirmed in an email notification sent to him.

The rejection has sparked speculation and debate, with many questioning the reasons behind the decision.

Some have suggested that it may be linked to a perceived association with a previous influx of African conflict migrants into the country.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne commented on the matter, describing the denial as a possible “knee-jerk reaction” to the past events. “We will enquire and resolve as appropriate,” stated Prime Minister Browne. “This may be a result of the hundreds of African conflict migrants that entered our shores just over a year ago, and subsequently smuggled out of our country.”

The response from Prime Minister Browne indicates that the denial may be related to broader immigration concerns rather than Ackon’s individual circumstances.

Despite this setback, Ackon appears to be optimistic about the situation, expressing hope that the issue will be resolved amicably.

Ackon’s case highlights the complexities of visa applications and the varying approaches taken by different countries.

While he has faced a setback in Antigua & Barbuda, Ackon’s journey continues, with his followers eagerly anticipating his next destination.

  1. Finally, the broken Immigration Services lights have been turned on. The Jamacian Immigration Services refused him a visa so he decided to try Antigua!

Gaston and Olabanjo’s migrants have caused enough embarrassment to Antigua. It’s high time that they are told that our doors are closed.

I am convinced that the Africans that are in Antigua are behind the Internet fraudulent activities and the disappearance of our young people. Africans, more specifically Nigerians are known for Carrying out butchery for human organs. As the population
of Gaston’s Africans started to grow in Antigua so too many of our young people have disappeared without a trace.

Olabanjo along with the chief of Immigration told the nation that Olabanjo used government vehicle and was allowed entry into secured areas to meet two friends that entered Antigua outside normal hours. To date Olabanjo nor the chief Immigration officer has told the nation the names of Olabanjo’s friends and their whereabouts.

On this occasion I support the Immigration services for their independent judgement without interference from Olabanjo’s friend, the PM. I wonder which Antiguan could go to Nigeria and smuggled Antiguans into Nigeria illegally and boldly refer to the President as his “Tight friend”.

Additionally which Antiguan could go to Nigeria and declared that Antiguans were brought into Nigeria for population growth and the government remained silent on the matter.

I am dismayed that UPP has gone asleep on the issue of Gaston’s migrants.

What’s happened to the inquiry? The chief of Immigration, the.minster responsible for immigration, Olabanjo and the PM owes the nation an explanation.

Hopefully, the PM will reframed from meddling in the decisions made, which undoubtedly is in the best interests of our nation to protect our borders.

The Immigration denied him entry and it should remain liked that. If the gentleman remains unhappy with the decision he should try the US, UK or any other EU countries and let’s see how far he would get. Antigua has enough entertainers.

  2. I Love Wodemyer his case needs to be reviewed and dealt with differently. You just can not treat everyone the same because of other people’s mistake.Wodemyer has a wide variety of viewers from all over the world its not just Africans that watch him.I hope he gets a chance to visit Antigua.

  3. @peeping Tom, I hope our Immigration services sticks to their original decision and refused his entry.

As you have claimed,he has a wide world wide audience, so he has other options at his disposal. Antigua’s Immigration Services was not designed to be made a mockery of.

As mentioned before Olabanjo, the chief of Immigration and the PM has allowed Nigerian fraudsters to make a mockery of our already broken Immigration Services and caused us embarrassment on a monumental level. Left to me all Nigerians currently residing in Antigua would be asked to leave.

The UK Guardian has recently published that the British health services has discovered 700 Nigerians clinicians has secured fraudulent employment as nurses and other health care practitioners and has acquired qualifications by proxy. I am convinced that they are Nigerians working at Mount St John’s illegally. It is extremely disturbing that we could have nurses and doctors carrying out medical duties that they are not qualified to administered. Our health services under the current health minister is terribly broken, so only God knows the fate of our people.
