Today, 6-year-old Jadon Smith paid Prime Minister Gaston Browne a courtesy visit at the Prime Minister’s office on Queen Elizabeth Highway.

The Grade 2 student said his goal is to become Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda and opted to visit the PM today as part of his career-day project.

Delighted by the visit, PM Browne asked the young PM-in-waiting why he wants to become a Prime Minister. To this, Jadon said, ” I want to become Prime Minister so I can help people too.”

  1. I think The six (6) year old Jadon has a great personality – a keen prerequisite for the job – even better than Prime Minister Browne’s. That’s certain competition in so many years.

In the days of Herod the King, a boy child making such presumptuous statements would not be tolerated. That kid got to watch himself, just incase he wakes up jealousy in the Prime Minister. All the same, it would depend on how long the PM intends to remain in office.

If the PM’s tenor is going to be as long as PaPa Bird’s, boy Jadon, I am sorry for you! Anyway, I believe that every human being is born for a purpose on this earth; so, who to tell, maybe this young boy child is being sent to deliver our nation. But, remember the case of former Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer: he grew up at the feet of PaPa Bird, and also had an early ambition of becoming our country’s leader; and, it actually happened.

Boy Jaden, my best advice to you is to keep working to prepare yourself for the office: if you have to even go into the Antigua and Barbuda wilderness and pray for forty (40) days and forty (40) nights and engage in fervent prayer just do it man: your dream might just come true!!!

Oh, the only question I would have for you now, Jadon, is this: which political party your parents support? Boy, that could make a big difference between your likely future success or failure, you know? You have to make sure you are on the right side, if your dream will have any real meaning.

However, I love how you look in your suit: you look like a real little Prime Minister for true. Time will tell. But, I don’t think I will be around to witness it. But, in my book, you really look like a little Prime Minister. Cheers man!!!

  2. That’s a beautiful ambition right there. The nation including our current leader must now help this youngster to be the best Prime Minister and leader that he can be. He definitely has a long way to go.
