Reports say that Kemmoy Tonge, 37, and 45-year-old Taj Rae were involved in a fight at about 2 a.m. on April 13, during which Rae was stabbed multiple times.
Officers from the Willikies Police Station were alerted to the incident by a sergeant, who reported that the two men were at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre following the wounding.
Apparently, Tonge claimed that Rae had beaten him about the body with a hammer, while Rae alleged that Tonge had used a knife to inflict several wounds about his body.
As a result, and based on police investigations, Tonge was arrested and charged for wounding Rae with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Reports say that officers visited the hospital, where they met Rae lying on a bed in the Emergency Room with several bandages about his body.
Allegedly, he told the Police he had been at the Phoenix Bar in Willikies when Tonge threatened to kill him and his family, and then proceeded to stab him several times with a knife.
The victim sustained five stab wounds – two to his chest, one to his shoulder, one to his buttocks, and one to his knee.
However, he reportedly is in a stable condition after having been admitted to the hospital.
Reports say that Tonge was also at the hospital when the officers arrived.

He reported that he had been at the bar when Rae came at him with a cutlass and then a hammer.
Tonge claims that he asked the bar owner to warn Rae on several occasions; but when, allegedly, Rae pushed him in the face with the hammer, they ended up in a scuffle on the road, he said.
Tonge is claiming further that he [dug] the victim with something – but does not know what the implement was.
Doctors reportedly had referred Tonge for an X-ray.
But after he had waited for over 90 minutes, he allegedly became aggressive and had to be removed from the hospital in the interest of public safety.
He was taken to the police station, where he was subsequently arrested and charged for wounding with intent.
