Dr. Baldwin Spencer, former prime minister, is categorically denying sentiments and statements attributed to him by Prime Minister Gaston Browne and carried by certain online publications yesterday, April 17.

Browne claimed that, during an unspecified visit with him, Spencer made remarks that were critical of his own style of governance and complimentary about Browne’s handling of his Cabinet.
“The prime minister’s story is unsubstantiated, vague, and completely misrepresents my character,” Dr. Spencer says.
“His account is totally fabricated and demonstrates a rather childish need for approval and validation that – clearly – he is not receiving from his own party,” the former prime minister adds.
Spencer also notes Browne’s self-satisfaction with his “handling” of his Cabinet and says this indicates “his tendency toward dictatorship, rather than a cooperative relationship with his colleagues.”
That PM Browne prefers to spin such stories to discredit members of the United Progressive Party (UPP) – rather than concentrate on building a legacy of tangible achievements – is pitiable, Dr. Spencer concludes.
A week ago, Browne was exposed in another self-congratulatory lie, this time targeting MP Jamale Pringle, Political Leader of the United Progressive Party.
