Antigua recently celebrated a remarkable event that showcased the musical talent and dedication of the youth in the region.
The National Schools’ Panorama brought together 430 young pannists, 11 bands, and 11 arrangers, creating a night of outstanding performances and community spirit.
Pan expert Khan Cordice lauded the event, commending all participants and highlighting its importance in developing the community and nurturing the next generation of talented individuals across various fields.
Cordice expressed gratitude to the schools, principals, teachers, arrangers, drillers, and instructors who contributed to the success of the event.
The competition revealed new faces in the competitive arranging arena, paving the way for a promising future in Antigua and Barbuda’s music scene.
Students were also recognized for their exceptional performances, with a reminder that just making it to the stage is a significant accomplishment for many.
Winners of the National Schools’ Panorama included Pigotts Primary School, Princess Margaret School, Antigua Grammar School, Greenbay Primary School, Ottos Comprehensive School, and 1974 T N Kirnon School.
The event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of various entities, including the Ministry of Education, Sports, and the Creative Industries and the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission.
Khan Cordice stressed the importance of focusing on the technical and theoretical aspects of youth development and the vital role that events like this play in nurturing future musical giants, leaders, and innovators.
The message to the people of Antigua and Barbuda was clear: continue supporting the local community and its endeavors.
The event was a testament to the talent and energy that can be harnessed when a community comes together.
The celebration was made possible through the collective efforts of ACB Caribbean, Pan Trinbago,, Antigua Port Authority, Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board, and the Ministry of Works.
As the event concluded, Khan Cordice wished everyone involved a great future, emphasizing the lasting impact of such initiatives on the community and its individuals.
