Prime Minister Gaston Browne arrived in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday for a Caricom Summit with the oil-rich Gulf state.
Thursday’s summit will focus on areas of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the 15-member regional bloc.
Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman will participate in the summit, which is being seen as another major event for an increasingly influential and outward-facing Saudi Arabia.
Prime Minister Browne leads Antigua and Barbuda’s delegation which includes Works Minister Maria Browne and Junior Finance Minister, Senator Dwayne George.
Other Caricom Heads of State and Government travelled on the flight which departed Antigua mid-afternoon Tuesday with a stop in Barbados.
They included the leaders of St Lucia, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, Barbados, Guyana and Suriname, as well as their respective delegations.
A similar flight has also landed with delegations from Jamaica, The Bahamas, Belize and Haiti.
