Prime Minister Gaston Browne is among CARICOM leaders now en route to The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the First Saudi-CARICOM Summit this Thursday.
Prime Minister Browne is leading Antigua and Barbuda’s delegation which includes Works Minister, Maria Browne and Junior Finance Minister, Senator Dwayne George.
Prime Minister Browne tells State Media he is pleased that the region is on the cusp of this major summit, as Antigua and Barbuda has been a pioneer in building relations with the oil-rich state.
Prime Minister Browne is expecting the 15-member regional bloc to advance discussions on trade and investment opportunities as well as tourism.
Among the other Prime Ministers on the close to 13-hour flight to the Saudi capital Riyadh are: Dickon Mitchell of Grenada, Phillip J. Pierre of St Lucia, Dr Terrance Drew of St Kitts and Nevis and Dr Ralph Gonsalves of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
State Media will have extensive coverage on the high-level engagements.
