The offence took place since Wednesday, June 21, at about 4:15 p.m., and shocked both onlookers and residents who viewed video clips of the incident.
Officers from the Criminal Investigations Department, including men from the B Division, and the Traffic Department responded to the report made by a 911 emergency operator.
They met the victim in the Emergency Room at the hospital being attended to by various doctors.
Reports say the young man had a stab wound to his right side, but was in stable condition, and his injury was not life threatening. However, he was kept for observation.
According to other reports, the young man had been sitting at Mishoo’s Fast Food Restaurant in Heritage Quay when an unknown male approached him from the rear and stabbed him with a white- handled knife.
Unconfirmed reports claim the alleged offender licked the bloodied knife after the deed, fuelling speculation that the stabbing was part of a satanic ritual – or that the man is afflicted by a mental illness.
Apparently, the Police recovered two knives at the scene, and a 31- year-old Cashew Hill man was arrested on suspicion of wounding and taken into custody.
