The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and the Environment announces that the vaccination center at the Multipurpose Cultural and Exhibition Center, the most central location, will have increased operating hours this week.

The Multipurpose Cultural and Exhibition Centre at Perry Bay will commence operation from 7 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, June 22 to Friday, June 25.

The vaccine center will also operate on Saturday June 26 from 7 am to 3 pm. The increased operating hours at the central location in St. John’s matches the public’s demand for more time allotment for vaccination.

The Ministry of Health will also decentralize the vaccination centers for easier access this week.

On Wednesday 23rd June, the mobile vaccination vehicle will be back in Falmouth at the Bailey’s Supermarket parking lot from 9am to 3pm. The mobile vaccination vehicle will then move to the Woods Mall parking lot on Thursday 24th June 2021 from 9am to 3pm.

On Friday 25th June, the mobile vaccination vehicle will be at the MBS Pharmacy, Nevis Street. MBS will also offer free screening for blood sugar and cholesterol. The mobile vaccination vehicle will then make its final stop at the Bolans Primary School on Saturday 26th June from 7am to 3pm.

The additional vaccination centers will operate simultaneously with the four main vaccination sites; The Villa Polyclinic, the Glanvilles Polyclinic, The Precision Center and the Multipurpose Cultural and Exhibition Center.

All vaccination sites will offer both first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Residents are reminded that persons due to receive their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in July can now do so in June at any of the vaccination sites. Persons receiving their second dose are reminded to present their vaccine card on arrival.

As of Saturday 19th June, thirty five thousand seven hundred and twenty-four (35,724) first doses of the Covid-19 vaccines have been administered while twenty six thousand nine hundred and forty-nine (26,949) second doses were administered.

The Ministry of Health is encouraging persons to avail themselves of both the first and second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
