The bus driver, Andy Edwards, who was involved in a collision on the Sir Sydney Wallings Highway, is currently in a stable but serious condition at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center. Edwards, a well-liked driver, sustained significant injuries to his legs and other parts of his body.
Additionally, another passenger suffered severe injuries, while the remaining passengers received minor injuries.
On Thursday, a collision occurred between a truck and Edwards’ bus, resulting in eight residents being rushed to the hospital.
The truck driver was heading west and attempted to overtake, but lost control and collided with the bus traveling in the opposite direction.
Elson Quammie, the head of the police’s traffic department, stated that there will be an increased police presence on the road to help reduce severe accidents.
Quammie explained, “The truck was traveling from East to West off the Sir Sydney Wallings Highway and was overtaking, and in the process, the driver lost control and collided head-on with the bus which was travelling in the opposite direction.”
