Recent reports indicate that Burning Flames, widely recognized as the world’s top Jam Band, is set to be inducted into the Soca Hall of Fame in a special ceremony scheduled for the end of September this year.
This prestigious event will take place in Aruba, where the band will accept the award and deliver an unforgettable performance for their fans from all corners of the globe.
This accomplishment marks a groundbreaking milestone for any jam band worldwide.
The Burning Flames burst onto the music scene back in 1985 with the release of a cassette tape featuring two songs: “Stylie Tight” and “Go Go.” These tracks became instant hits, dominating the radio airwaves during Carnival celebrations.
The band gained a devoted following by performing live every Saturday near the East Country Pond, attracting thousands of enthusiastic revelers.
These electrifying sessions became known as “Jam Pond.” Additionally, their appearances at the annual Lion’s Club Carnival dances became a staple of Antigua’s Carnival festivities for many years.
Such was the popularity of these two events that many nationals would return to Antigua every year for Carnival, specifically to attend Jam Pond and later Lion’s Den.
Burning Flames’ musical prowess and influence extended far beyond the shores of Antigua and Barbuda. Their talent was recognized when they were invited to perform the theme song for the popular movie franchise, “Weekend at Bernie’s 2.” The band has also graced stages at concerts around the world, including in the United States, Canada, the UK, Europe, and Africa.
