Shukur Hodge received positive news on Friday when the arson charge against him, related to the alleged burning of the $892,000 Bon Appetit restaurant in Falmouth on May 1, 2021, was dropped.
The decision came from Justice Tunde Bakre after the prosecution formally entered a nolle prosequi, citing a lack of evidence against Hodge.
As a result of the case dismissal, Hodge’s record is now clear of the arson charge, and previous bail stipulations no longer apply.

He had been under a $100,000 bond, with travel restrictions and a curfew in place since the incident. Now, he is free from these constraints.
However, beyond Hodge’s legal status, the repercussions persist.
The nearly million-dollar Bon Appetit restaurant remains in ruins, awaiting reconstruction. Additionally, the restaurant’s contents, valued at $395,000, are irreversibly lost.
