Acting on valuable information, officers executed a search warrant on June 21. Transparent bags containing the controlled substance, along with cash, were found in his living room.
Further investigation led to the discovery of marijuana plants in pots in the yard.
The seized items, valued at $12,475, were weighed in Howe’s presence at Police Headquarters.
Chief Magistrate Joanne Walsh reprimanded him for three offenses, imposing a fine of $30,000 and ordering the confiscation and destruction of the drugs.
Failure to pay within three months could result in an 18-month prison sentence.
