The Federation was sent into a state of shock on February 9 at the news of police finding two toddlers deceased in a home and a woman tied up.
After 7 p.m. on Friday, February 9, news of the tragedy began circulating on social media.

In response to questions from the media after news of the incident began to spread, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force stated that officers responded to a report of a woman being found alive and tied up in a house in Monkey Hill, St. Peters, with two children, both of whom had been confirmed as deceased.
Social media has been abuzz with unconfirmed musings since the news hit online, but the police have not confirmed or denied any of the mounting rumours as investigations are ongoing.
The mother’s identity is 35-year-old Colander Caines, and the two toddlers are her four-year-old daughter, Calaysia Caines and six-month-old son, Kevon Caines.
The incident was reported to the police at 6:25 p.m.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact their nearest Police station or the Crime Stoppers’ Hotline, 707.
